San Francisco to Carmel

The big and the small European-type city

After a short walk throug the finance district in SF we picked up the rental car near Union Place. After getting the luggage at the Shearton we left SF for Carmel and the Silicon Valley.

If you hear the name Silicon Valley you might know that big companies have their headquarter there like Google, Apple and other kind of IT companies.

All of this started at the Stanford University which is also located there. The first computer was put together there and now the Stanford Uni is one of the most well known university in the world. The University is a private one where only 16 thousand students are permitted.

While our trip through the „Silicon Valley“ you might visit Google and Apple or other stuff that you’re interestet in.

On you our way down to Carmel we drove through the valley. I was really exited about visiting the Apple Campus. But once getting there it wasn’t really a big thing.

Nearby Apple a new campus is under construction now. I was looking forward to seeing this campus the next time because it is going to be a big circle made of glass within the middle a big garden or a kind of. Hopefully I’ll get the chance then to visit it from inside.

Google we haven’t visited but maybe next time…

Our next stop was at the NASA Ames station but to be fair the „Visitor Center“ is nice but not really good. It was near by but not worth a longer trip to go for.

So we decided to leave the Silicon Valley and have a little more time in Carmel.

This is one of the most beautiful cities in Amerika. The style is kind of European and chic.

After we arrived at our motel we went straitly to a restaurant to get a reservation for the evenning. As we got it we had a great time at the beach with the white sand and the sunset.

At the end of the day we had a great meal at the restaurant with the most delicious Bolognese and Saganaki.
