Oh no! the alarm clock is ringing. It is 4 o-clock in the morning. This can not be true! We do have holidays!!
But our plan is to see the sunrise at the Delicate Arch in Arches National Park.
So all 4 got up quickliy, entered the car and we are heading towards the National Park. The full moon accompanied us with his light shining over the Colorado River. Just before Moon Set his light even changed to red. Than it was dark. Deep dark black. And many stars.

Arriving at the parking lot we where the 3rd car there. Everybody started hiking soon. We had to search the trainhead by help of our torches, but on the trail it was so easy to walk that everbody switched his torch off. From second to second it became slightly lighter.

We loved to hike in the dark and supervising these changes in the nature.
After 30 minutes the darkness was over. 15 Minutes later we arrived at the Delicate Arch. Incredibile. A wunderful stone arch and only very few people waiting for the sunrise.
After a while we recognized that we would not be able to take a picture the sun shining througwards the arch. In August the sunrise is exactly parallel towards the arch. No chance. There pictures seen in the internet must be made in late fall or even during winter time.
Annna and Lena tried to find a place on the next hill to have a change to see the sun throug the arch.

Michael and Elke took many pictures from the beautiful sunrise over the montains. And when the sun reached half of the Arch we decided to go back and finish our trail. We met the girls on our way back and everybody reported very satisfied what he / she has seen.

We will never forget this early morning hike to Delicate Arch.
