San Francisco is an amazing city. We were there for the first time 5 years ago.
We did „the must“ last time like „cable car“, „cable car museum“, Lombard street, Peer 39 and the Golden Gate Bridge. This time we had favorites like Golden Gate Park, another ride with the cable car and the science museum. For all this we had 2 days.
Arriving at the airport after the emigration control we had a surprise. Someone called „Elke“. I looked around and Christiane and Frank Krippendorf were waiting for uns at the airport. They are living in California for about 24 years. They went specially for us to the airport to welcome us in California. We had a nice chat for about one hour and said good-bye with the wish to meet each others after our sailing tour.
After this surprise we took a taxi to our hotel. Lena and Michael chose the Sheraton Hotel at Fisherman`s Warf. We had a very small room on the basement just near the central trash bins. Therefore the room was quiet loud. Quickly we went outside towards Pier 39. The Pier 39 is described in the guides as something for the tourists. Indeed, most of the people there are tourists, but…
……the elephant seals are amazing. They are lying on the docks and you can spent time to look at them.
……the sunset over Alcatraz and the black pelican flying in front of the island.
…….the hardrock cafe, many small shops
…….and all the artists and actors performing stunning little shows.
For us it is worth going there, feeling the atmosphere of the sunset.
We followed the street and visited Boudin, a famous bakery.
